What is a bet?
A bet is anything you commit to building — a product, a tool, a game, a community project. It means you're putting your time and skills on the line for something you believe in. The outcome might be revenue, impact, or personal growth.
Do I have to build 12 things in 12 months?
No. The name "12 in 12" is aspirational, not a requirement. You set your own pace. Some builders ship monthly, others take longer on a single bet. What matters is that you're building and sharing your journey.
What are the three motivations?
Every bet has a motivation: For Profit (building a business), For Impact (solving a problem for a community), or For Craft (learning, experimenting, having fun). You pick one when you create a bet, and you can change it if your motivation evolves.
Do I need coding or technical skills?
Not at all. Some builders use AI tools to vibe-code their projects, others are experienced developers, and some build non-technical products entirely. Use whatever tools work for you — including AI assistants.
What does it cost?
The platform is free. You can create a profile, place bets, share updates, and participate in the community feed at no cost. Paid cohorts with dedicated leads may be offered in the future.
What if my bet doesn't work out?
That's part of the story. A parked or canceled bet with an honest reflection is more valuable to the community than a silent disappearance. The platform prompts you to share what happened and what you learned.
Do I need to share my progress publicly?
Sharing is encouraged but not required. Public accountability helps most builders stay on track, and your journey might inspire others. You can share updates on your profile page and in the community feed.
Can I join anytime?
Yes — there are no cohort start dates or enrollment windows. Join, create your profile, and place your first bet whenever you're ready.
How is this different from a project tracker?
Project trackers show status. 12in12 shows the story. When you change your bet's status, the platform prompts you to share the narrative — your thesis, your progress, your outcome. That story is what the community reads and learns from.
